Mi Apartamento, a 29-unit complex, is located on a prominent corner in Barrio Logan’s vibrant neighborhood. This Mission-revival style building received renovations inside and out inspired by the Barrio’s rich cultural history, including a playful nod to Mexican iconography. A visually bold, sustainable landscape consists of drought-tolerant trees and succulents. Old shopping carts are converted into a community garden; recycled tires become planters for fruit trees; fount objects hold colorful succulents; wooden crates provide shade over outdoor tables; recycled Murphy tables are placed under a colorful mural. The exterior space is a key element for this complex occupied by young professionals who enjoy a Southern California, outdoor lifestyle.
