Harbor Aquatics Center

The Harbor Aquatics Center is situated on a narrow spit of land between the Pacific Ocean and the Oceanside Harbor, taking full advantage of stunning ocean views. Featured in the design are two complimentary significant outdoor spaces - a sunny succulent seaside garden planted to resemble the stripes of a colorful beach towel on the sand, and a simple grove of Olive trees that serve as a flexible community gathering space and picnic area. The site design takes an environmentally sensitive approach in that it uses drought tolerant plants, incorporates permeable paving in the parking lot and utilizes the planting areas for infiltration of run-off.
